All roofing projects must be reviewed and approved by the Woodsound HOA Board of Directors (BOD) BEFORE construction can begin.

Architectural requests are reviewed and voted on when the BOD meets the second Monday of every month.
Send your request (via the *form button below) to the BOD no later than the first Wednesday of the month.

When Woodsound was built in the late 1970’s, cedar shake roofing was used exclusively throughout the neighborhood. Over time numerous manufacturing, economical, safety, and esthetic factors have encouraged the use of new material options.

In 2005, an amendment to the declaration of CCRs was adopted, stating that any roof product other than cedar shake would require BOD approval.

From September 2005 on, multi-layer fiberglass shingles have been the most popular product that members have chosen. Currently, 70% of Woodsound homes have installed CertainTeed Presidential Shake TL . The BOD will expedite approval of CertainTeed Presidential Shake TL (3-ply) because it has already proven to enhance Woodsound’s established visual integrity and conforms to the appearance of the general community.

Comparable products can be requested for approval, and will require a physical sample. Allow extra time for the approval process.

Features of Certainteed Presidential Shake TL :
-A rustic sculptured look
-Residential lifetime limited transferrable warranty (see manufacturer)
-Fire-resistant product, that is also wind, rain, and tear resistant.
-Requires less maintenance and upkeep compared to cedar shakes
